Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pendekar Starrer ”Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” is making a lot of buzz ever since the poster and trailer of the film were launched. The market is speculating the film to be a big hit. The film promotes the importance of toilet in every household and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Well, the film is in major trouble as a filmmaker from Jaipur, Praatik Sharma has filed a copyright infringement case in the court against the makers of the film. Praatik has filed the case in Jaipur Metropolitan Court against Plan C Studios, an alliance between Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks helmed by Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia, and Viacom18.
Praatik made a film back in 2015 named as Gutrun Gutar Gun but couldn’t release it due to lack of money for distribution. The film was also certified by the Central Board of Film Certification. Praatik stated- ”Plan C is producing it and Viacom18 is serving as a producer and presenter. There is one line in my movie – ‘aurat shadi karke ghar mai aati hai, usko toilet nahi milta, bawal hota hai, ant mai pati usko toilet bana kar deta hai.’ Due to this line distributors are telling me storyline of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is same as of my film.
Praatik and his team has been struggling from past 2 years for the release of the film and were all set to release it on 28 July this year but now distributors have backed off as the storyline is similar to that of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Praatik is still waiting to hear from the court and believes justice will be served to him.
