The gorgeous Government Maharaja Public Library and Reading Room established in 1866, located at Chaura Rasta, has been home to many students and readers who find solace sitting in the beautiful reading room or walking through its corridors or even playing board games.
Being one of the oldest libraries of Jaipur, this library flaunts rarest of rare books in many genres and categories such a fiction, non-fiction, art, culture, history, religion, general subjects, law, history, books in regional languages and more, spread beautifully across its one tier building.
The library has separate rooms for Hindi, English & Urdu books and a cutesy decorated children section with books ranging from Panchtantra, Snow White to Sci-Fi books, novels, puzzle books, et al.
How Can You Become A Member?
The procedure is quite easy-peasy! Go there, fill out the membership form, submit it along with membership fee (20 bucks only!!!) and viola, you’re entitled to take a book for a fortnight from their uber-quaint and massive collection.
